San Diego Investor Enters Spain

San Diego-based JK Investment Properties (JKIP), a self-storage developer with facilities in Arizona, California and Nevada, is breaking into the Spanish market with multiple projects in the Madrid area. Company co-founders Jeff Quinn and Ken Weiner partnered with Yale USA, a San Diego real estate investment company, to facilitate the expansion.

The first facility, with an opening slated for March, will have 65,000 square feet in more than 700 units. Two more properties have been purchased in Arganda del Rey and Rivas, based on the success of other stores that recently opened nearby. Quinn said facilities in the area are commanding rental rates higher than JKIP’s projections.
